I had an email this month from a following driver who noticed that my brake lights had stopped working. Normally a warning would have shown on the dashboard but on this occasion both bulbs had popped out of their holders when we passed over a very sharp speed hump. Clearly legislation, which mandated light emitting diodes to be fitted on all new trailers, would solve this problem. These solid-state devices are less affected by the shocks inflicted by poor roads on an empty trailer. My thanks to Kevin for alerting me to the problem.
