Money for Nothing!

I amused myself this evening investigating the number of sham sites set up to bypass traffic which should be going to the DVSA driving test booking site.  Superficially they look impressive with plenty of bells and whistles – but they are set up just to cream off some of your funds which you would really like to pay for your driving test.  In particular, potential candidates searching for a short notice test will have a number of sites to avoid.

The genuine site is very simple – but above all very easy to use.

One Small Step to Reducing Bumf.

On 8th June this year as part of the Government’s policy of reducing ‘bum fodder’, the paper counterpart to the driving license will become redundant . This is good news for driving test candidates who, on occasions, forget to bring it when taking a theory or practical driving test. More information can be found here –

Many learners carry this piece of paper in their pocket and it can get quite tatty. One of my Clients taking the test presented his counterfoil in such a poor state that the Examiner had to check with the DVLA that the green lump was in fact the counterfoil. On returning from the office after making the call the Examiner declared that they could go out on test since his licence was ‘clean’. The lad agreed adding that his Mum had not checked his pockets when she did the laundry!
